John DeCorso

John DeCorso has been an essential part of the Guelph Wish Fund Golf Committee for many years, with his involvement dating back to 1995. His journey began when he joined his uncle, Angelo DeCorso, who was an active member of the golf committee at that time. As a young volunteer, John attended meetings and witnessed the excitement of the 1:00 PM shotgun tournaments followed by a formal dinner and dance, which were a hallmark of the event in those days.

In 2000, when his uncle Angelo retired, John officially took on the role of the Victoria Park representative, marking the beginning of his significant contributions to the committee. Over the years, John has had the privilege of working with many dedicated committee members, including Ron Asselstine, Barry Scutt, Barry Fowler, George Lowry, and Alistair Bevan Stewart, who were all instrumental in shaping the event in its early days.

As the tournament evolved, John continued to be a driving force, working through the Canada Trust years with Peter Baldasso and Mark Dalbello, and more recently, with Joanne Grodzinski. Today, John remains an active and vital member of the committee, contributing his experience, dedication, and passion alongside newer members such as Steve Baker and Anthony, who have also been involved for a significant time.

John’s longstanding commitment and leadership have been invaluable to the success of the Guelph Wish Fund Golf Tournaments over the years. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and the positive impact he's had on our organization. Thank you, John, for your unwavering support and for being such an integral part of our community!
